101 Things Lonely Planet Didn't Tell You

...er, well...sorta.

Welcome to my travel blog! - My husband and I are pretty avid world travelers. We have been to over 25 coutries, and have lived and worked in the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Germany.

Okay, so what? - you ask. So what if you're a world traveler. What kind of information do you have that I can't get from any travel book or travel site anywhere?

I hope to be able to provide people with the real life helpful details about where you're headed. I can't tell you how many times we've been travelling and said to each other, why did lonely planet not mention this? where are the opening times for x museum? Why does the description say must see when it's really a must miss?! Or why does it say spend three days in this city when there's only 30 mintues of stuff to do?!

These are all the kinds of things that I believe can really make or break a trip. I hope to be able to provide some insight, and maybe help with any specific travel questions.

So here we are - tip number 1 that Lonely planet fails to mention

Zagreb, Croatia: LP identifies it as the "often overlooked, but well worth it capital..." Lies!...Mostly.

Things to know:
Unless you're in it for the insane partying - Do NOT plan your trip to Zagreb for the weekend. Most museums are closed by about 1pm and there's nothing open on Sunday. NOTHING. So if you plan to go, I vote you get there early Thursday morning tour around see the museums, of which there are not many. Do some shopping...and head out forsome dinner and partying Friday night. The Croats KNOW how to party. Recover Saturday and be off to another city that day. There's not much to see or do here. This is plenty of time.
